Synthesis and ring-opening polymerization of some aryl substituted polycyclic alkenes

Abstract Three aryl norbornene derivatives have been readily polymerized via ring-opening at the vinylene bond in the presence of the two-component ring-opening metathesis polymerization initiator WCl 6 /(CH 3 ) 4 Sn, to give atactic polymers.
