Neglect May Not Impact Real-World Paretic Arm Use in the Chronic Stage of Stroke Recovery

2019
Date Presented 04/05/19 Nonuse of the paretic arm is highly prevalent after stroke. In the chronic stage of stroke, individuals with neglect have similar patterns of paretic arm use as individuals without neglect when matched for paretic arm motor impairment. These findings highlight how critical it is that stroke rehabilitation therapists address paretic arm nonuse in therapy.
