The Development and Production of an Interactive Prenatal Alcohol Education Program.

1990
Abstract Alcohol use during pregnancy is an important public health problem. The majority of pregnant women do not drink after receiving appropriate prenatal education. However, providing such a message to disadvantaged women can be difficult, due to time constraints as well as educational and cultural barriers. We developed an interactive prenatal education program for low income, low literacy women to address these issues. It has been well received by the target population. Further work will be necessary to determine if its use results in behavior change.
