Web pages classification based on GA and SVM

Internet has become an important information resource for users. Classifying web pages can help users to receive sufficient information. A novel algorithm for web pages classification by combining Support Vector Machines (SVM) with Genetic Algorithm (GA) is proposed in this paper. Two datasets are selected to compare GA-SVM and SVM. The results show that GA-SVM can improve classification performance,especially in web pages dataset,and can be used in web pages classification.
