Extrapolation Method for Shell Model Calculations with Projected Deformed Basis

Exact solution of large‐scale shell model calculations can be obtained, in a well‐controlled manner, by energy variance extrapolation method with spherical and deformed bases. The extrapolation formula including Ĥ3 matrix element is presented in shell model calculation. It is also shown that energy variance extrapolation with deformed basis is quite promising for huge shell model calculations, and its feasibility is shown in f p shell calculation.
