A Quantitative Study of Crack Monitoring for Electromagnetic Resonators by Perturbation Method

The passive sensors based on electromagnetic (EM) resonator are receiving increasing attention for structural health monitoring. The sensitivity, however, is determined by the location as well as the crack profile. In this paper, the sensing mechanism is uncovered by the shape perturbation method. The findings can help to design the mode of the EM resonator based passive wireless sensors.
