The invention relates to an electrode (10) comprising at least one current collector (2) and at least one active material layer (3), wherein the active material layer (3) at least a first, continuously region configured K (20) comprising active material particles P (A) (4 ), and at least one second discontinuous region configured D (30) comprising active material particles P (B) (6), wherein the at least one discontinuous configured range D (30) each (of the continuously region configured K 20) is surrounded and wherein the discontinuous configured range D (30) each having a diameter of not more than twice the film thickness of the active material layer (3).
