Application of Biotechnology in Research of Camptothecin

Camptothecin is a kind of anti-cancer activity of terpene indole alkaloids. Camptothecin has important uses and research value. The research progress on the status of camptothecin resources and the application of biotechnology on camptothecin were summarized. The authoralso pointed out the content of Camptothecin were little in plants and couldn't satisfy the needs of the market. It suggested that was the most effective research tools and methods by the application of biotechnology on camptothecin. In addition,the future researching fields how to improve the camptothecin content was put forward.
