Prática de cuidados imediatos ao recém-nascido: uma revisão integrativa de literatura

Objective: To analyze how the scientific production of Nursing addresses the practices of immediate care to the newborn. Methods: Integrative review in the Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences, Scientific Electronic Library Online and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online databases, with the descriptors: Postnatal care; Newborn; Delivery rooms. This is a section of Scientific Initiation linked to the Center for Extension and Research in Women's Health at the State University of Feira de Santana, in Bahia. Data collection between August and December 2019, following the 06 steps proposed by Mendes, Silveira and Galvao, selecting 594.183 articles initially and after the inclusion criteria totaled 10 articles. Results: From the reviewed articles, it was possible to build the following categories of analysis: Good practices in immediate care for the newborn; Stimulation of skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding. It is worth mentioning that the late clamping of the umbilical cord was rarely mentioned. In the current context, immediate care has been modified due to the coronavirus pandemic. Final Considerations: The training and updating of the nursing team in the delivery room is an important factor for the good practices of immediate care for the newborn.
