Study on Plugging and Unplugging Reliability of Micro Rectangular Electrical Connector

2020
A model of the contacts of a micro rectangular electrical connector was constructed with the modeling software CREO, imported into HyperMesh for pretreatment and solved by ANSYS/LS-DYNA solver to obtain the contact force and effective stress during the plugging and unplugging of the micro rectangular electrical connector. The results showed that the number and diameter of outer stranded wires, and the diameter of the bulge transition circle of outer stranded wires of the pin of the micro rectangular electrical connector had obvious influences on the insertion force and withdrawal force. Through the orthogonal test, a three-factor three-level plan for three factors affecting the insertion force and withdrawal force of the micro rectangular electrical connector was designed, and the resulting data were subjected to range analysis with the maximum effective stress as the response result. It was discovered that the descending order of the above three factors was diameter of stranded wires, number of stranded wires and transition circle diameter in terms of their degree of influence on the insertion force and withdrawal force of the micro rectangular electrical connector.
