Preparation of thin films of ternary complex of europium with 2-thenoyltrifluoroacetone and o-phenanthroline

A novel sol-gel dipping process had been adopted to prepare thin films of ternary complex of europium with 2-thenoyltrifluoroacetone and o-phenanthroline and this process provided a good reproducibility of homogeneous ternary complex thin films. Polysorbate-80 was used to improve the homogeneity of the thin films and its function was discussed. The emission spectrum of the thin films was studied and the mechanism has been discussed.
