Expression of PPARα mRNA in Liver of Primary Hepatocellular Carcinomas

Objective To investigate the expression of peroxisome proliferator activated receptor(PPARα)mRNA in liver of primary hepatocellular carcinomas.Methods Total RNA of liver was isolated with trizol and the levels of liver PPARα were measured by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)in HCC tissue and the other tissues near the tumor from 22 patients after surgical treatment.Results Compared with other tissues,PPARα mRNA levels in HCC tissues were significantly decreased in liver during 17/22.(P0.05).Conclusion HCC tissues can decrease the expression of PPARα mRNA in liver,which might be affect the course of lipid metabolized of liver cell,which might be involved in the initiation and the development of HCC.So we can judge the prognosis by it.
