Method and apparatus for automatically calculating and providing an estimated time of arrival

A system includes a processor that is configured to receive information relating to a vehicle location. The processor is also configured to determine one or more filters for filtering out a plurality of unspecified places from different types of location based on the received information. Further, the processor is configured to apply filters for each of the various types of places, to select a plurality of non-specified locations. The processor is also configured an estimated time of arrival (ETA) for each of the selected locations to calculate and transmit the selected locations and the calculated ETAs to a vehicle.
