Laser evaporation of metals at a critical temperature
1992
The results are given of an investigation of the dependence of the mass of an evaporated metal on the energy absorbed from a laser pulse of millisecond duration. The mass of the evaporated metal was determined from geometric parameters of an aperture in a metal foil obtained at the lowest possible energy of a laser pulse. A simple analysis of the results, carried out using the energy balance equation in the case of equilibrium phase transitions, revealed the existence of an evaporation regime at a temperature, which if not equal, was at least very close to the critical value
