Conventional cooling methods for agriculture facilities in southern China and their basic principles.

In most parts of southern China,the temperature usually continues to be high in summer and lasts for a long time.Therefore,it costs too much in cooling agriculture facilities such as greenhouse in summer and limits the devel-opment of protected horticulture in southern China.The present paper introduces several conventional cooling methods for agriculture facilities in southern China,viz.,aeration,sunshade,evaporation and spraying roof,summarizes the basic prin-ciples of the four methods and gives them general analysis and assessment.It was thought that the four cooling methods should be used comprehensively according to some factors such as weather,crop,economic benefits,etc.in various regions.
