Recycling and the interstate experience

This paper is based on an internal report, prepared following a visit to New South Wales and Victoria to review current construction methods and design philosophy for road rehabilitation projects, as may be appropriate to the Tasmanian scene. Inspections and discussions were held with the co-operation of RTA (NSW), VIC ROADS, and a number of industry representatives, with particular emphasis on pavement recycling techniques. As a direct result of the visit, several initiatives have been incorporated in the current DRT rehabilitation program (A).
