Research Progress of Bactrocera （ Zeugodacus ） scutellata （ Hendel ） （ Diptera： Tephritidae）

The stripped fruit fly,Bactrocera( Zeugodacus) scutellata( Hendel),is one of the most dangerous quarantine insect pests in China. Due to its wide distribution and heavy damage,it has caused serious economic losses in fruit and vegetable production in China. This paper assembles research progresses in morphological characteristics,classification status,host ranges,geographical distribution,population dynamics,molecular ecology and biology of B. scutellata,and put forward the following research prospects as well.
