Riana – A Diagnostic Device for Measurement of Joint Range

2020
In the field of rehabilitation, a measurement of the knee joint range belongs to one of the most frequently utilized procedures. Such monitoring requires repeated measurements of a current state of the knee joint. Therefore, such measurements should be fast, reliable and accurate due to a high number of patients, undergoing rehabilitation workspaces. Based on these arguments, we proposed a clinical instrument, called Riana. This instrument is attached to the lower limb, and consequently measure and electronically record the knee joint range. Associated clinical software allows for storing records for reproduction and analysis of effectivity of individual measurements. In this study, we report experimental measurements with Riana on ten volunteers of flexion and extension.
