Objective To study and discuss the status quo and progress of percutaneous lumbar discecromy(PLD).Methods Introduction and comprehensive analysis to the status quo and progress of percutaneous lumbar discectomy(PLD) by reviewing relevant domestic and foreign literature.Results Technologies of PLD are maturing and developing.Conclusion In the micro-trauma and no influence on the basic structure of the spine situations.PLD can effectively remove lesions and treat disc by taking further advanced technologies,so PLD will become a basic and primary method to treating lumbar disc herniation.
