Nurses are in strategic poitions to work with both well and sick people in heir quest for information to strengthen their abilty to care for themselves and their families. Reearch shows that nurse practitioners (NPs) in paricular are more likely to provide patient education han are physicians (Horrocks, Anderson, & Salisury, 2002). Therefore, the Internet may be an xtremely rich resource for nurses and consumers. he purpose of this column is to provide an examle of how one clinical nursing site successfully dapted internet capabilities in teaching their clints as well as to provide an overview of how urses may use this new resource.
