Fifteen years of health promotion in Kimberley Aboriginal community- controlled health services

Issue addressed: This paper describes the development of health promotion conducted by Kimberley Aboriginal community-controlled health services over a 15-year period. Methods: A description of the environment out of which health promotion grew is provided and examination is made of innovative strategies used and why innovation has been sustained over a long period. So what? Currently, a great challenge to health promotion is the balancing of ongoing appropriateness with sustainability. (author abstract)
