Coating for artificial grass

The invention relates to a plastic grass mat comprising a base fabric, to which in a regular manner polymeric fibers or plastic grass fibers are tufted and wherein pile tufts are anchored to the underside of the base fabric by a coating, said coating comprising a latex and a filler, wherein the filler is calcium carbonate is preferably and wherein at least 10 volume% of the filler have a particle size greater than 100 microns. The invention also relates to a method for anchoring of plastic grass fibers in a base fabric for producing a plastic grass mat, in which the plastic grass fibers are tufted at the top to the support fabric, which extend on the upper side of the base fabric, and wherein on the underside of the base fabric provided with tufts a latex coating for anchoring plastic grass fibers is provided in the carrier fabric, wherein the latex coating includes a latex and a filler and wherein said latex coating is applied in at least two layers on the underside of the base fabric.
