Flexible structure for generating electric power from wave motion

2011
Apparatus for generating electrical energy from the motion of waves, comprising at least a flexible buoyant tube which is closed at its two ends, characterized in that the flexible, floating tube comprises a wall which at least one lies and in the longitudinal direction of the flexible has buoyant tube extending stack in which the flexible, floating tube is exposed to the wave movements at least one layer comprising comprises a layer of an electroactive polymer and at least one functioning as the flexible electrode layer, and a method for generating electrical energy from wave motion whereby portions of the stack are stretched or compressed, and the layers of electro-active polymers in the compressed sections to be loaded with the aid of an electronic control unit and then extending from the expansion of these sections and the associated separation of the charges in e lektroaktiven polymer this range resulting excess electrical energy is generated by a capacitive discharge phase.
