In this paper, we examine important security issues for Sun workstations connected to the Internet. In particular, we discuss the need for an organization to devise a network security policy, and we introduce the Basic Network Security Tool (BNST), being developed in the Department of Computer Science at Texas AM other protocols will added in future versions.
