Application of seismic methods for interface detection in the Akal block Jurassic section, Cantarell Field, Mexico.

2009
Important development plans are being executed for Sihil block in Cantarell Field. In order to efficiently accomplish the drilling plans, it is required a precise knowledge of the position of the base of the carbonate in Akal block of the Cantarell Field. This interface defines what is known as the BC_JSK horizon. The objective of this paper is to apply different methodologies to precisely define the base of the Kimmerigdian carbonates to aid in the design of Sihil objective wells, and better define, with the help of seismic attributes, the areal distribution of the Kimmerigdian carbonates.
