A Study on the Effect of Social Capital on Intellectual Capital Case study: Iran Polly Acryl Company

With organizations entering knowledge-based economy, knowledge and as a result intangible assets is considered as one of the most important competitive advantages in organizations. Nowadays using intangible assets has a very significant influence on organizations’ success and survival. Social and intellectual capitals are among the most important intangible assets. Social capital enjoys being autogenic and self-production, i.e. proper use of it leads to its production and strengthening. Thus examining social capital subject matter requires a deep and meticulous research. The goal of the present research is studying the effect of social capital on intellectual capital. The method is descriptive correlation and the population is the employees of Iran Polly Acryl Company, from which a sample of 120 was chosen randomly. Data was collected through questionnaires and Amos and SPSS software programs were used to analyze the data and testing the hypotheses, results analysis was done by linear regression method and structural equations model. Nominal and construct validity were verified via Amos. Intellectual and social capital questionnaires’ (respectively %97 and %95) reliabilities were verified by Cronbach’s coefficient Alpha. Results of data analysis show that the social capital had a positive and meaningful effect on the intellectual capital of the under study company. Some suggestions are made to improve social and intellectual capitals for increasing the organization’s competitive advantage and ultimately developing the organization’s operation.
