Twin-chamber Knudsen Effusion Cell Mass Spectrometer for Alloy Thermodynamic Studies: II

Additional modifications to the twin-chamber Knudsen effusion cell source mass spectrometer with a precision positioning device reported earlier are described. With this apparatus, the activities of palladium in a few palladium-niobium alloys are determined. The advantages of this design over the usual Knudsen effusion cell mass spectrometry for alloy thermodynamic studies are discussed.
