Hemispherical Lens Featured Beehive Structure Receiver on Vehicular Massive MIMO Visible Light Communication System

2015
With the development of internet of vehicles, Visible Light Communication VLC is the missing piece of this inevitable technology. However, current VLC systems lack the adequate date rate and reliability. By utilizing the proposed semispherical lens on Beehive Structure Receiver BSR, we can achieve the significant diversity channel gain which is require to enable massive Multiple Input Multiple Output MIMO technology in any VLC systems. Via classical optics, we are able to derive a model to determine the channel gain of the receiver based on the number of transmitter. The simulation result shows images from transmitters to the receiver are distinguishable based on different angle of incidence which confirms that there is a significant spatial diversity for the proposed VLC system.
