Pilot Study on Using Innovative Counting Peaks Method for Assessment Purposes of the EEG Data Recorded from a Single-Channel Non-Invasive Brain-Computer Interface

2021
This paper presents an innovative method for counting peaks on EEG signal. In this particular case it was applied for the purpose of efficiency assessment of smoothing filtering. The analysed data recorded with the NeuroSky Mindwave EEG headset, obtained from the open source data-base. The best results gave Moving Average filtering with the score of over 96% peaks coverage. Promising results of this methods are consistent with the conclusions based on visual assessment. This method can be treated as an introductory method for intelligent machine-based reasoning.
