The invention discloses automatic measuring equipment and method of unit weight of grains. The equipment comprises a measuring cylinder which is provided with openings in top and bottom and is hollow, a first driving unit, a second driving unit, a control arithmetic unit, a push rod, a pressing disc, a slide baffle, a weighing device and a displacement sensor, wherein the first driving unit is used for driving the push rod and the pressing disc at the bottom end of the push rod to move up and down so as to compact the grains in the measuring cylinder; the second driving unit is used for driving the slide baffle to move horizontally to open or close the opening in the lower end of the measuring cylinder; the control arithmetic unit is used for controlling the first driving unit and the second driving unit to collaboratively operate; when the slide baffle closes the opening in the lower end of the measuring cylinder, the grains are conveyed into the measuring cylinder, and the push rod and the pressing disc move up and down to compact the grains; the displacement sensor is used for measuring a displacement difference of the push rod in the measuring cylinder before and after the grains are compacted; and when the slide baffle opens the opening in the lower end of the measuring cylinder, the grains are moved to the weighing device below the measuring cylinder from the measuring cylinder, and the weighing device is used for weighing the weight of the grains.
