Historical demography — problems of an interdisciplinary field

1978
Abstract The current interest in historical demography is reflected in the many introductions to the subject which are appearing in different countries. This work by Arthur Imhof of West Germany, a pioneer of modern research in the field, is the latest of these. It is mainly intended for German readers, but Scandinavians will also find it of great interest, because Imhof's previous research has largely focussed on Scandinavian population problems, especially those of the eighteenth century. Therefore many of his examples are drawn from Scandinavia.
