An assessment of the impact of new residential development upon the existing community of Portsea

With many new housing developments intended for Portsmouth and indeed the United Kingdom it is clear to see that housing provisions have been made and, though it will be a tall order to meet these provisions and house the increasing population, these new developments will have an impact on the existing communities. However it is often unclear how this impact is regulated and in what ways Town Planners ensure that the introduction of new developments have positive consequences. This research project investigates the impact of new residential developments throughout the Portsea area upon the existing community and aims to identify the causes for these developments. The community benefits of these projects will also be considered, as will the opinions of those affected.
