On the electronic structure of silicene on Ag(111): strong hybridization eects

In this Supplemental Material we provide a comparison between the folded band structure of 3×3 silicene before and after interaction with the Ag substrate (that complement the results shown in Figs. 1 and 2 in the main text). The isosurface charge densities of certain relevant states are plotted in Fig.1. Hybridization with Ag shifts the energies of states of silicene origin down and changes their character significantly.
