A new hynobiid species {\sl Hynobius guabangshanensis} from Hunan Province, China (Amphibia: Hynobiidae)

This paper describes a new species of the family Hynobiidae from Hunan,China.The type specimen is deposited in the College of Life Sciences,Hunan Normal University. Hynobius guabangshanensis Shen sp.nov.(Fig.1);Holotype HNUL 02112404.An adult male,total length 146.3 mm.Type locality:Guabang Shan Tree Farm(26°37′8″N,111°56′1″E),Qiyang County,Hunan Province,China.Altitude 720 m,November 12,2002,collected by JIANG Tian-Min.\;Paratype\ 8♂♂ HNUL 02112201-02112205,02112401,02112402,02112403,the locality,altitude and collector are diffo of holotype.Egg sacs are collected by SHEN YH,DENG XJ,WANG B on November 24,2002.\;Diagnosis\ The new species has many traits similar to Hynobius amjiensis,such as large size,13 costal grooves,long legs,and tips of fingers and toes mostly meet when adpressed;their metacarpal and metatarsal tubercles are distinguished(Fig.5)etc.However,it differs in the following characters:1)size smaller than H.amjiensis,the total length of adult male is 139.3(125.4-151)mm;2)vomerine teeth thinner and closely range together,the outside twigs with 9-11 teeth,inside twigs with 25-27 teeth,the latter terminal connected with each other(Fig.3);3)tail length shorter,the rate to snout-body length 70.4%;4)egg sac not longer than 200 mm,and curve-shaped(Fig.4).
