Prevalence and Risk Factors for Preprocedural Medication Errors in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation and Atrial Flutter

Perfect adherence to anticoagulant medications is an important aspect of care for patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing cardiac electrophysiology procedures to minimize the risk of stroke. Despite this, adherence remains imperfect as is associated with added cost of additional procedures (e.g., transesophageal echocardiography) and administrative burden.
