An experimental study of inclusive reactions produced in π−p collisions at 11.2 GeV/c
1973
An experimental analysis of the inclusive reactions 1) π−p→π−+anything, 2) π−p→p+anything, 3) π−p→π++anything, 4) π−p→ρ0+anything, 5) π−p→Δ+++anything is presented at 11.2 GeV/c. All invariant single-particle spectra normalized to the total cross-section are studied as functions of Feynman’sx and transverse-momentum squared. For the reactions 1), 2) and 3) the contributions of different topologies (2-, 4-, 6-, 8-prong events) in the limiting fragmentation regions are also shown. A comparison is performed between the reactions 4), 5), where diffractionlike processes are not allowed, and the corresponding reactions 1), 2) with « leading » particle effect. The average multiplicity for each detected particle is also calculated.
