President Triplehorn, my colleagues and friends, ladies and gentlemen. Let me first of all thank you for the honor that you have clone me by allowing me to be your President this year. On an occasion such as this annual meeting, I feel it appropriate to pause and honor one of our very best scientists, and, at the same time, I would like to think introspectively of current trends in entomology.
