Safety Aspects of Advanced Nuclear Systems Consuming Plutonium

The current situation of nuclear energy in the world is fundamentally influenced on the one hand by the need for electrical energy and on the other hand by concerns resulting from the accidents in TMI and Chernobyl. As a result of the latter in some (mostly Western) countries no more nuclear power plants are built — at least for some time. In countries with less public concerns nuclear power plants are commissioned.
