An analysis of change in a rural Cadastral survey system in Thailand: The identification of external factors

Abstract The pre-1986 rural cadastral survey system of Thailand is outlined. An analytical model is developed and applied to that system in order to identify the external factors that operated on it to induce major change. The nature of the change and feedback factors in the system will be discussed in a second paper.
