The author expresses concern about the insensitive terminology and the lack of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspective in the Aboriginal health issue of Australian Family Physician (July 2002). This is followed by an apology from the Medical Editor explaining the use of terms and giving assurance that an article authored by an Aboriginal community leader was sought but was not forthcoming.
