A dual purpose impression and porcelain cutback guide

Abstract Proper communication between the dentist and technician is essential for optimum clinical results. Contour requirements for multiple ceramometal restorations cannot be adequately described with a written laboratory authorization. A technique is described where this information is transmitted to the laboratory by means of a stone cast. The impression used to form the cast can be modified for use as a porcelain cutback guide for ceramometal framework fabrication.
