Security for electronic Government : Securite technology

The Japanese Government is planning to realize highly intelligent electronic government (e-Government) by the Fiscal Year (FY) 2003. As its concept is based on the Internet, security for e-Government is a critical issue to be considered. This paper describes e-Government system architecture proposed by NEC, and examples of systems for electronic authentication, electronic application and electronic procurement with security features in use.
