Method Study On Oil Transportation Electrostatic Detection Based on Optical Fiber Measurement
2013
During the course of oil carriage, accidents frequently occur due to ignition of the oil from electrostatic discharge. In order to reduce accidents resulting from the excessive accumulation of static electricity during oil carriage, this paper proposes a research method of using optical fiber to measure static electricity based on the mechanism of electrostatic discharge in oil ships. When static electricity quantity exceeds a certain level, a warning is sent to the crew on the oil ship, helping to eliminate static electricity accidents. Oil static electricity is transmitted to the electroscope through an electrostatic transmission wire. According to the repelling principle, coated activities cause the pointer of the electroscope to move, thereby changing the laser reflection angle. Different optical fibers absorb the laser at different reflection angles. A light signal converts to electric signal by photodiode, and the single chip microcomputer transforms the electric signal into a digital signal, which can be output though serial ports, parallel ports, or can bus. According to the mapping relation between static electricity quantity and reflection angle of the laser, the single chip microcomputer can obtain the data of static electricity quantity. The method of using fiber optics to measure static electricity solves the original security problems in the process of oil transportation. Using this method can eliminate the hazard of oil static electricity discharge.
