The article indicates the concept of efficiency of agricultural production and proposes a classification of its main types. The criteria of agricultural efficiency are considered and the main indicators are defined. The concept of efficiency refers to a complex economic category, which includes a multifaceted system for the development of agricultural production, its organic connection with intensification, the natural environment, the social conditions of workers, the totality of elements and relations that make up the economic mechanism, indicators, the assessment of the activities of enterprises and organizations, their industries in the system of a functioning market and government regulation. There are the following types of efficiency: technological, social, environmental and economic. Agriculture is the central pillar of agribusiness, whose efficiency is multipurpose and can be represented as a system of national, regional and commercial efficiency.
