Shaped article containing active compound and its production

PURPOSE: To obtain a shaped article effective to control pests in animals by using a polyether block amide as a carrier and adding an active compound having a low vapor pressure and optionally common additives thereto. CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic elastomer based on a polyether blocked amide is mixed with an insecticide or an acaricide having a low vapor pressure and optionally common additives, and the resultant mixture is treated by a usual method to obtain a shaped article containing the active compound. The polyether blocked amide is desirably one having repeating units of the formula (wherein A is a polyamide chain obtained by removing the terminal groups from a polyamide having two carboxyl terminal groups; B is a polyoxyalkylene glycol chain obtained by removing the terminal groups from an OH-terminated polyoxyalkylene glycol; and (n) is the number of units forming the polymer chain).
