Academic Freedom in the Public Schools.

Public school teachers should refrain from claim ing indiscriminately, on grounds of "academic freedom," the rights which widely obtain in higher education; logic and fact will not sustain them. That is the thesis of this paper. It does not mean, however, that the public school teacher has all the professional autonomy he needs to achieve the goals of the school.
