The family Bagridae living in south-western rivers of Korea was identified into genera Pseudobagrus and Leiocassis based on the exomorphological characters. The species of genus Pseudobagrus were P.fulvidraco, Pseudobagrus sp. and P.brevicorpus, and genus Leiocassis, L.nitidus, L.ussuriensis and L.longirostris. Intergeneric taxonomic characters between genera Pseudobagrus and Leiocassis were the length of barbels, the size of mouth, the position of mouth, the length of rostrum, the number of pectoral fin ray and the shape of cranial lateral line system. According to the above morphological characters, Pelteobagrus fulvidraco and Coreobagrus brevicorpus recorded previously in Korea were classified into genus Pseudobagrus, and Pelteobagrus nitidus and Pseudobagrus ussuriensis regarded previously in Korea also were transfered to genus Leiocassis. Interspecific taxonomic characters in genera Pseudobagrus and Leiocassis were the shape of body, the standard length, the number of gill raker, the number of vertebrae, the number of anal fin ray and the shape of caudal fin.
