Identification system (1) for identifying articles (3), with - one on each article to be identified (3) attached to the transmission member (7), from which a code representing an identification code radio-frequency signal is transmittable, - with an activation part (25) from which an activation radio frequency signal via a wireless connection to the transmission member (7) of a respective on activation part (25) moved past the object (3) is transmittable to the transmission member (7) for transmitting the code radio frequency signal to cause, - with a receiving part (27), of which the respective code radio frequency signal can be received over a wireless connection, a transport device, are of which the respective articles (3) are automatically moved past the activation part, and - with an adjacently disposed to the activation part variation means (29) from which on moving past the object (3) on the activation part, the relative alignment between the the activation radio frequency signal defining electromagnetic field and moved past each at the activation part (25) object (3) is varied arbitrarily.
