Method for iontophoresis to administer a dissolved or partially dissolved substance percutaneously or perungueale path and corresponding device

1987
According to this method, said substance has, as an active electrolyte, between the skin 5 or nail of a patient and a first metal electrode 1, called the active electrode, a second electrode 2, called the indifferent electrode having a different potential to the first electrode and electrically connected thereto, said second metal electrode 2 in contact with the skin or the nail 5 via a passive electrolyte 6, the contact areas of the two electrodes being suitably remote from one another. The first electrode 1 has the highest potential or the less electropositive according as the substance to be administered can penetrate the skin or the nail in the form of positive ions or negative ions.
