EFECTO DE LA CETOSIS SUBCLINICA POSPARTO EN LA EFICIENCIA REPRODUCTIVA EN VACAS HOLSTEIN FRESIAN DE LA COMARCA LAGUNERA
2005
SUMMARY. The objetive of this study was to evaluate the reproductive behavior of Holstein-Friesian cows with subclinical ketosis. Research was conducted with 200 cows with different number of lactations, sampled by a ketosis diagnosis test 5 days post-partum (Ames-Bayer strips), out of which 2 groups were considered, acetonemic and non-acetonemic. Additive covariables, days in milk and season of year taken into account. Information derived was analyzed by the T-Student test, following the General Lineal Model (GLM) procedure of the Statistics Analisis system (SAS) package. Results showed reproductive parameters (conception services, days open) in ketosis cows had a significant effect (P<.05) and season of year demonstrated significance (P<.05). Ketosis cows showed a higher difference with respect to non-ketosis ones (2.18 ± 0.18). Related to days open, it shows a 7 days increment, compared to non-ketosis cows, (86.18 ± 3.33). Therefore it is concluded that subclinical ketosis affects significantly, reproductive parameters in cows.
